No way we can of course help you get to know Bergen for free, we are not so rude we, get it Norway is a expensive country so if you´re around here and don´t care to walk among alleys with hundreds if years of history you can just wander around and enjoy the city at your pace making sandwiches at your hotel or airbnb and walking the city for fre , here are some useful tips for you if you want to get the best out of Bergen without spending you well earned savings.
First place to visit here is the hanseatic wharf of Bryggen unesco heritage site right in the hearth of Bergen Beautiful 300 plus years old timber houses colorful painted and let´s face it a bit misalign, it will make you feel like you are walking around another world that do not belong to this era because the reality is it doesn’t .
Second place , the best view of the city, from the city is called Fløyen, the mount Fløyen the mountain peak of the city center, with an impressive look up point that allows you to see up to the northern see , you can get there for free by walking your way out which is nice if you are fit enough or taking the funicular ride called Fløybanen for something around 20$ and hike around the area when you are there, who knows maybe you even got the chance to taste the wild blueberries up there and get a free meal.
Tirth place to visit while in Bergen , is a bit far from the city, well not that far actually but it will take a while if you walk your way up to there, good news is the light train get you there for just 4$, anyway visit the Viking Stave church in Fantoft is always worth the time , a fabulous wooden structure originally build by real Vikings around the year 1100 , but unfortunately reconstruct in the 90s after a horrible incident but it looks just like the original.
